Speaking Dominic

IMAG0215I’m planning on doing a formal update on Dominic around his birthday, but I need to document some of the things he says (or was saying) before I forget.  We haven’t ever really used baby talk when speaking with him so its hard to remember the way he says things if I don’t write them down.  Before his surgery, the doctor told us he was speaking at a 3 year old level, and since then his speech has just continued to skyrocket!  And his pronunciation is much more correct (its good, but a bittersweet milestone!).

So in an effort to remember, here are some of the things Dominic has said or how he said them (this list by far is not all of his mispronunciations, just the ones that seem unique)…

  • Po-zure Bear (Polar Bear) (also thought the Michelin man was a polar bear)
  • Doznic or Donicks (Dominic)
  • Weff (the letter F)
  • Going through flashcards he would say every letter except “m” – he would say the sound mmmm
  • Fee Fee (TV)
  • P-Pa (Grandpa) – John called his grandpa P-pa when he first started to talk too
  • Barowowo (marshmallow)
  • Luz ew (love you)
  • Paynlay (penguin)
  • Tana Bear (panda Bear)
  • Ceesa (pizza)
  • Melmo (Elmo) – we have 2 elmo toys and 2 elmo videos but he LOVES melmo!
  • Bubbleberry (blueberry)

I was hoping to get a video of him saying these, but he has not wanted to cooperate lately.  Maybe sometime in the future…but at least I’ve got them written down!

  1. Hahah I guess it’s Murphy’s Law that whenever you have camera out, he will never do/say what you’re trying to get him to do, but when the camera’s not there, he’ll do it all the time! At least you have a list, though. :)
